i. actually. want. to do something on valentine's day next year. and by "do something", i don't mean sit at home watching some chick flick. (...) by "do something" i mean go to dallas. ... for the all-star game! ok, so it's not news that the all-star game has been around v-day for the past few years, but 2009? arizona? really? odds are i'll just end up at home watching it again. things could be worse. anyway, if you believe in luck or believe your opinion matters in the slightest, go vote for your all-star players.

it's like nutella, but not.
btw, why do items like this need to have warnings like, "CONTAINS HAZELNUTS"?
how much would you pay for a pair of shoes you REALLY like?
i thought jimmy choo and stuart weitzman (among others) were up there in the shoe hierarchy, but alas i am proven to be young and naive. (side note: i don't understand; some jimmy choo designs aren't even that special. if you're going to sell me a basic black pump for $500, it better feel like i'm walking on sunshine. and there should be no question whatsoever about whether it feels good or not. but i digress...) because today i discovered christian louboutin. apparently i wasn't brought to saks and neiman marcus enough to be properly educated in fashion during my deprived childhood. otherwise i would've been privy to python skin pumps that cost over a grand -- $1,335 to be exact. sure, some boots cost over a grand, but these aren't boots.
maybe i shouldn't blame it on my childhood though. i actually think shoes like these are banned from being sold in cali. i'm guessing due to the python skin? ...
kidding. i'm all for saving animals and hugging trees. (but within reason. mosquitoes and cockroaches can die for all i care. and trees from stanford don't deserve hugs.)

p.s. all of a sudden, cole haan seems really affordable. and probably more comfortable.
with the recent passing of halloween, i got to thinking about costumes. i'm getting a little too old to dress up, but i thought, "if i had to dress up, what would i wear...?"
Sabrina
Gone With The Wind
the "curtain dress". now that's skill.
Breakfast at Tiffany's
the famed "little black dress". simple and stunning.
Atonement
love the color.
Memoirs of a Geisha
Funny Face
audrey again? yes. when you're givenchy's muse and he lets you hand pick from his designs for every movie you make, you get to wear some pretty awesome dresses.
"bird of paradise" dress.
The Seven Year Itch
i think it'd be wrong if i didn't include this one. it's iconic.
The Swan Princess
a lost animation from the 90's, but the dress made enough of an impression.
Titanic
the "flying" dress. so pretty. and whimsical.
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

p.s. i couldn't find this dress before, but it belongs up there.
