Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

so i just finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows last night. i kno, i kno, i'm about 2 years behind or something. it's been a while since i've read for pleasure. and i never really got into the the harry potter books (but i'll watch the movies). i decided to read it coz i'm like, "you're making the last book into TWO movies? really?...REALLY?...um, no." so i decided to read the blasted book instead of waiting 2 years, or however long it's going to take for them to release the last 2 movies.

i was pleasantly surprised by j.k. rowling. i like the book. a lot. i don't think i would've liked the first 5 books in the series though. (i admit, i read the 6th book too. for context.) based on the movies (and the sizes of the books), the first few books in the series didn't have as much depth. but the last one i finished in 3 days. and i think what i loved about it was snape. he was probably the most interesting character in the series.

(spoiler alert)

now for those of you who actually READ my blog, awhile ago i posted something about how alan rickman plays a suitor in Sense and Sensibility. i thought it was funny coz he has that same slow drawl in that movie as in Harry Potter, and he was supposed to be romantic (in both movies actually)...or trying to be. he won the girl at the end of Sense and Sensibility via erosion, but i think being a martyr for love is more romantic. ... in a romeo and juliet, morbid sort of way. ... not that i would wish it on anyone. ... and it's not like i would swoon with delight if a guy died unnecessarily. ... ok, end blog.

---

You mean you followed me around for 7 years like a puppy and then wore me down with your subtle charms. That's not called seduction. It's called...erosion.

I remember watching Sense and Sensibility with my family and all of us screaming in horror when we realized mumbling old Alan Rickman ended up with fresh young Kate Winslet. It was a bit of a traumatizing experience for us.
